COREGO™ can be described as an active monitoring system based
around the EmbracingSound® technology. This single point
loudspeaker approach opens up the door to an unique and reliable
pro audio reference tool for reproduction of mono-, stereo- and
surround content.
The system contains of one single loudspeaker box and a 19” rack
unit, housing all the I/Os, peak LEDs and electronics.
All I/Os are fully analog on balanced Neutrik® XLR connectors.
In the digital domain all signal processing uses 56bit internal
resolution with 24bit/96kHz AD/DA conversion. The amplifier
section is built around three stereo ClassD amplifiers, feeding the
array of six broadband loudspeaker drivers using Neutrik® Speakon™
connectors.
Based on the physics of loudspeaker reproduction and the
fundamentals of human perception of sound, the EmbracingSound®
technology reproduces an accurate stereo and surround experience
from just one single loudspeaker box.
The main benefit of the technology is the uncluttered time domain
from having only one physical source of sound. This makes audio
reproduction very exact and even the slightest, minute change in
the phase information becomes apparent and meaningful.
Due to the loudspeaker configuration and the EmbracingSound®
algorithm the listener can enjoy the spatial information present in
the recording exactly in the same way it once was recorded.
Simply put, what comes in - comes out.
Delivered to your ears. Not two or five loudspeaker boxes.

Compared to a conventional loudspeaker setup with its typical
“sweet spot”, COREGO™ delivers a listening experience along a
“sweet line”, going straight out from the loudspeaker in the listening
room. Hard left/right panned sources appear equal to where we are
“used” to have two loudspeaker boxes placed, on +/-30 degrees.
Feeding the system with 5.1 surround content results in a surround
experience that “embraces” the listener as long as there’s such
information in the electrical signal. Working with surround
productions with conventional loudspeaker setups sometimes
requires two separate mix sessions. One for the discrete 5.1 session,
another one for the stereo downmix version. This because of the
difficulties to get the 5.1 session to “translate” well in the stereo
downmix while working with separate loudspeaker boxes.
COREGO™ solves these problems and delivers a high resolution
surround experience while continuously monitoring the stereo
downmix. This with the added bonus of a rock solid mono
compatibility check as well, as the whole system is based on one
single loudspeaker unit.
Fundamental things such as leveling and panning are performed
with a breeze due to the accuracy in localization of the sound
source reproduced by the system. After spending some time mixing
in an EmbracingSound® environment one starts to realize there is a
significant amount of eq and dynamics not needed on individual
sound sources and mix busses in the same way as when working in
a conventional loudspeaker setup. This due to the heavy filtering
effects, mainly above 1kHz, always present in a monitoring setup
based on separate loudspeaker boxes. Filtering effects added on top
of the actual recording that you make compensations for in every
single mix decision through the whole session.
These effects are eliminated in the EmbracingSound® environment
due to the uncluttered time domain. Delivering powerful mixes with
good separation truly has never been easier.
The usual mix check “in the car” will be a new experience as well,
with the common “unexpected surprises” element now mainly
conspicious by its absence.... just your mix and nothing but your
mix.
NUFEELD® is a brand new manufacturer of professional monitoring
systems based around the EmbracingSound® technology, founded by
Johan Eckerblad and Mikael Gunnerås, both long time fans of the
single loudspeaker box invention as well as professional sound
engineers, musicians and producers since more than twenty years.
The first small steps leading to the final product launch of the
COREGO™ system in May 2011 were taken by the founders while
witnessing an early consumer audio prototype of the newly
developed Theatre-HD platform from EmbracingSound®, back in
2008.
Realising the huge potential of this new platform in a proaudio
environment as well as on the proaudio market became the start of
the whole project.
NUFEELD® is based in the cities of Stockholm and Gävle, Sweden.

The COREGO™ downmix monitoring system was launched at the LLB
show in Stockholm together with the new Swedish NUFEELD®
distributor SENNBERG. Sennberg is also representing manufactures
for the Swedish market such as Milab® (microphones/SE), Audient®
(mixing consoles/UK), Auralex® (acoustical products/US) and
Neutrik® (connectors/LIE), among others.
Hats off to Stephan Segermark and the Sennberg crew for great
support during the show and all the visitors giving us three crowed
days of overwhelming feedback on the COREGO™ system!

Swedish loudspeaker manufacturer NUFEELD® turns the next page in professional studio monitoring
launching COREGO™, a stereo downmix controller system based on a new cutting edge platform of audio
reproduction. For professional sound designers, broadcast engineers, music studios and mastering suites
COREGO™ finally bridges the gaps between surround sound reproduction, stereo downmix check and mono
compatibility - all in one single mix session - from just one single loudspeaker box!
